PERSONALISED LEARNING

A Therapeutical Approach

At Landon School, we take pride in offering a therapeutic approach tailored to the needs of our learners. By integrating therapy into every aspect of learning, we empower each student to thrive and reach their full potential.

Therapy at Landon School: Supporting Every Student

At Landon School, our therapists use a “Tiered Approach to Intervention” to make sure every student gets the support they need. This successful, three-part approach is used in many special needs schools across various boroughs.

Tier 1: Universal Support for All

Universal tier means that therapy techniques are available to all children, every day. Trained therapists and SEN (Special Educational Needs) teachers guide staff on how to use these techniques in daily school life. We also offer training and workshops for parents and staff, so everyone can help our students thrive.

Tier 2: Targeted Support for Groups

Targeted tier provides therapy in small groups based on their abilities. This support comes from a dedicated team of therapists, teachers, and teaching and therapy assistants, all of whom have received training.

Tier 3: Specialist Support for Individuals

The Specialist Tier is designed to provide highly focused and individualized support for students identified by our therapy team as requiring specialist intervention. This level of support includes ongoing, direct supervision and personalized support from our therapists as needed. The specialist tier also involves conducting assessments, developing specific intervention plans, and maintaining communication with staff and parents to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to the student’s needs.

A Collaborative and Empowering Approach: The Tiered Approach

To fully unlock each student’s potential, our therapists work closely with the entire school team, providing continuous support. This collaborative spirit is central to our tiered approach, which extends intervention beyond individual or group therapy sessions.

Through this model, therapists empower teachers, parents, and other adults working with students by providing them with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need. This ensures that the support continues throughout the student’s day, helping every child reach their full potential.

We believe this comprehensive approach allows to provide the right level of therapy for every child at Landon School, helping them reach their full potential.
